Artificial Intelligence in Recruitment: A Conceptual Study of its Impact on the Bangalore IT Industry

Abstract: Recruitment in India's high-tech capital is being transformed by artificial intelligence and it could shape the industry's future in the country. Introduction This position paper discusses how AI-powered tools are transforming the way talent is acquired, by automating processes including but not limited to the screening of resumes, candidate sourcing and the preliminary evaluation of candidates. The research also investigates the concept of AI application to recruitment under the theoretical lens of decreasing hiring time, removing human bias and providing a better candidate experience. We also discuss conceptual issues intertwined with ethical considerations, data privacy and the danger of overreliance on technology. Based on review of the literature, industry white papers, and conceptual models, the paper discusses the prospects and challenges of AI's advancement in recruitment. It also suggests a strategic model for combining AI with human decision-making to improve the effectiveness of recruitment. The results provide implications for HR policy makers in Bangalore IT sector who would like to use AI and preserve fairness, transparency, and accountability in hiring.
